These are our main terms and conditions. For more detailed information please contact us or view our standard hire contract at the bottom of this page.
Drivers
Only drivers named on the hire contract can drive the hire vehicle.
All drivers must be in possession of a current, full valid driving licence held for a minimum of 2 years. For UK drivers, both the photocard and a code to access the DVLA on-line verification page must be produced. Drivers with foreign driving licences must present their own national licence, plus an International Driving Permit (IDP) if a non-EU, EEA resident.
23 to 75 inclusive.
We reserve the right to pass on any insurance premium loadings to the hirer. There may be premium loadings for additional drivers, foreign licence holders, newly qualified drivers and those with motoring convictions, claims, and higher risk occupations.
The cover is fully comprehensive, with a standard excess is £500. An increased excess may apply for young and other higher risk drivers, and a lower excess may apply for drivers with a clean licence. A deposit or credit card reserve for the amount of the excess may be required at commencement of the hire.
The hire vehicle must be used for social, domestic and pleasure uses only (which includes non-competitive classic car tours or touring assemblies). It must not be used for racing, pace making, competitions, rallies, track days, trials or speed tests.
Loss of or damage to personal effects or belongings is not covered.
Travel Area
The hire vehicle must not be taken out of the area comprising mainland Scotland north of the A85 (Oban / Crianlarich / Crieff / Perth / Dundee) and the Isle of Skye.
There is a maximum daily mileage limit of 180 miles as recorded on the hire vehicle’s odometer. Up to 40 additional miles per day may be purchased in advance.
All hire charges must be paid by debit or credit card. We do not accept American Express.
You must look after the vehicle and the keys to the vehicle during your hire period. You should always close and lock the vehicle when you are not using it, and use any security device fitted to or supplied with the vehicle. You must always protect the vehicle against any adverse weather which could cause damage to the vehicle. No smoking, vaping or pets.
The vehicle will have a full tank of fuel at commencement of the hire, and should be returned to us with a full tank of fuel at the end of the hire. A refuelling charge (in addition to the cost of the fuel required to fill the tank) will apply if the vehicle is not returned with a full tank of fuel. You must make sure that you use the correct fuel, as you are responsible for any resultant damage.
You must let us know as soon as you can if you become aware of any fault with the vehicle. Apart from AA roadside assistance you must not let anyone work on the vehicle without our permission. If we give you permission, we will give you a refund if you have a receipt for the work done.
Our current policy is that all hire deposits are fully refundable or transferable in the event that either you or we have to cancel a vehicle hire reservation for any reason. All reservations are subject to availability of the reserved vehicle for the hire duration. In the event that a vehicle is not available (and we are unable to supply an alternative vehicle acceptable to the hirer) or in any other circumstances where we cancel the hire reservation, our liability is limited to the amount of any deposit or other payment already paid, which will be refunded in full.
